We are very proud to have had Starr Fox N Sox, the 2003 section B Welsh Pony stallion as our foundation stallion. Foxy had been sold and no longer stands at Mandali Farm, but he will continue to shape our breeding program through the legacy of his foals. We are leaving Foxy's page up as a reference, and look forward to having his colts stand at stud here in the future. Check out our stallion prospects page for more information Foxy's colts. |
With increased hay prices, sportpony crosses are becoming an economical choice for many adult riders as well as children. Welsh and welsh sportponies are competing successfully against larger horses in a variety of disciplines, with riders of all ages. Foxy is the perfect foundation sire for our pony breeding program. His bloodlines speak for themselves, with triple GlanNant Tango and Criban Victor, and quadruple Cusop Sheriff in his pedigree. Foxy exhibits classic welsh conformation, and his flashy color is icing on the cake. It was love at first sight! Foxy is heterozygous for the roan gene, which means that you will have a 50% chance of getting a roan foal. He has 8 foals on the ground so far, and all of them have inherited white markings- both solid and roan foals. |

The roan coloring makes a dramatic change along with the seasons, Foxy appears black in the Winter, nearly white in the Spring, and then slowly darkens through shades of grey during the Summer and Fall. Owning a roan welsh pony is truly like owning a 'Horse of a Different Color'. |
